A bootleg recording of an unreleased and naturally very early Green Day track ‘Stay’ has been shared online. The song even pre-dates their debut album ’39/Smooth
Following the celebration of 25 years of their seminal album Dookie, Green Day fans are probably feeling a little spoiled with rare material, but will still gladly take the previously unreleased track to the bank with them.
Green Day aficionados will however maybe know the song by a different name. It was widely claimed to be called ‘World v World’ and allegedly written for an independent film helmed by Billie Joe’s brother.
Although the song starts off as more of a ballad it builds and builds into a more familiar Green Day sound. What we thin is the most notable part is Billie Joe Armstrong’s vocal remains almost exactly the same ot this day.
