Footage of a young Billie Joe Armstrong with his 1987 punk band has emerged online. The Green Day singer is only 16-years-old in the short clip but is still the centre of attention, even then.

We brought you some early days Green Day gems from 1989 earlier this year, with songs ‘Stay’, ‘Maybe Forever’, and ‘Jennifer’ showing up on the internet as a pre-cursor to the band’s album Nimrod. Well, it appears the internet Gods look kindly on us as they’ve thrown up another retro piece of punk history.

Although a quick clip, the 30-second video shows Armstrong playing with his band Desecrated Youth comprised of Raj Punjabi, Mike Pritchard, and Sean Hughes in 1987. The quartet, performing in Punjabi’s back garden in California, offer a whole heap of energy and a hint at Armstrong’s star power.

Take a look below at the vintage clip of Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong giving it some welly.
